Overview

If you're reading this and it looks like a raw unformatted black and white HTML page with pictures, you should go directly to the Site Configuration section at the end, so you can get your copy of LoopyCMS up and running. If it looks like a page with a whole site around it, congratulations, you've accomplished the first step of configuring your copy of LoopyCMS. If you're reading this on my website, you might yet decide you want a LoopyCMS site. Read on and find out if that's true.

The 11 links above document the tools to administer and manage content on your LoopyCMS site. If you haven't yet read the PageLayout Overview, /articles/LoopyCMS_PageLayout.htm and the Site Building Overview, /articles/LoopyCMS_SiteBuilding.htm, do that, because they answer a lot of the basic how and why type of questions you'll want to have answered before you start building and running your site.

Administrative Tools

The image above shows the tools available in the LoopyCMS admin toolset. They fall into a few categories:

Content editing - all of the entries that have Create and Edit links - editing articles, newsletters and any custom content types you create are about the same as editing blocks on pages or editing the site design elements. The same tool is used for all of them
Content editing tools - Site Browser, Image Browser, Content Browser, Table Creator, PhotoAlbum editor
Page creation, Content Type creation - Page Template/Create, Create a Content Type
Content backup management - Restore a previous edit, Remove old Backup copies
And lastly SiteMan, a site management utility that allows you to upload files, directly edit files, browse, preview, etc.
